Plain terms for a small app that keeps nothing of yours. There is nothing hidden in here.

What you are agreeing to

Using HYPER means accepting these terms. If you installed it from the App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies as well, and where the two disagree Apple’s wins. If you installed it from Google Play, Google Play’s own terms cover the transaction.

Nothing written here takes away a right the consumer law where you live gives you. Where a clause below goes further than your law allows, it simply stops at the line your law draws.

What HYPER is — and is not

HYPER is a place you enter to go deep, and the record of what you make there. It is not a medical device, not a treatment, not a diagnosis, and not therapy. It does not treat ADHD or anything else, and nothing in it is medical advice.

We are careful about this on purpose. Hyperfocus is not a diagnostic criterion for any condition and researchers have not settled on a definition of it; that going deep is worth protecting is our conviction, not a research finding, and we keep the two apart. If something about your attention, mood or health is troubling you, talk to a professional — HYPER is not one.

Your work is yours

Every word you write in HYPER — missions, echoes, thoughts, project names — is yours. We claim no ownership of it and take no licence over it, because we never receive it. It leaves your phone only if you send it somewhere yourself.

Your copy is the only copy

HYPER keeps your data on this device and nowhere else. There is no account and no server, which means there is no copy for us to restore. If this phone is lost, damaged or reset, or if the app is uninstalled, that data is gone and we cannot bring it back. Not because we will not — because it was never ours to hold.

The backup file is the way around this, and it is yours to run: HYPER writes a copy when you ask, and reads one back when you give it one. Everything in between — where the file lives, whether it survives, whether you can find it again — happens outside the app. We cannot recover a backup you have lost, repair one that is damaged, or produce one you never made.

Restoring replaces what is in the app with what is in the file. Take the extra second to be sure it is the copy you meant.

So, plainly: to the fullest extent the law where you live allows, HYPER is not responsible for data that is lost, damaged or unrecoverable — including where no backup was made, where a backup was made and then lost, and where a backup fails to restore. Making the copy is the one piece of this that only you can do.

Buying the deep end

HYPER Deep is sold through the App Store and Google Play. They set the currency, take the payment and handle refunds under their own rules — we cannot issue one on their behalf, though we will always help you ask.

A subscription renews until you cancel it, and cancelling happens in your store account rather than in here. What the deep end holds is described at the door before you pay, with no countdowns and no crossed-out prices, and leaving that door costs nothing.

The voice in the games

The narrator is a character, not a person. Her voice is synthetic — generated by a third-party text-to-speech service — and it is not a recording of anyone. Nothing she says is advice, and nothing she says is about you specifically; she is written, not listening.

The sound

The soundscapes and the game music are made for HYPER. If you connect Spotify, whatever you play through it is between you and Spotify under their terms — HYPER only presses the buttons.

Fair use of the app

Do not take HYPER apart to rebuild it, resell it, or ship it as something else. That is the entire list, and it is not aimed at you — take it as the fence around the work rather than a rule about how to use it.

What we can and cannot promise

HYPER is provided as it is. We test it and we care about it, but we cannot promise it will never drop a frame, never crash, or run forever on every phone ever made. Features may change, and some may go away.

Where the law lets us limit what we owe you if something goes wrong, we do. Where it does not, we do not, and your consumer rights stand whatever this page says.

Ending it

Stop whenever you like. Delete the app and nothing of yours stays with us, because nothing ever was. There is no account to close and no one to tell.

Changes, and where to find us

If these terms change, the new version appears here and on hyperfocus.life, carrying a new date. We will not change them quietly.
